The Kyiv City Hall reported how the capital is preparing for Christmas and New Year's holidays. In particular, the main symbol of the New Year, the Christmas tree, has already been installed on St. Sophia Square.
This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
According to him, because of the war the Christmas tree is not very impressive in size, but it's life-affirming.
"It is not as big as in peacetime, but it is more positive than ever. The Christmas tree has already been installed. And it will be decorated," Klitschko wrote.
The country's main Christmas tree will be opened on December 6. The decoration will be provided by sponsor's money.
This year, no mass events are expected to be held in Kyiv. There will be no fairs, as well as local celebrations.
