On May 16, 2024, Ukraine and the world celebrate Vyshyvanka Day, a holiday aimed at promoting and honouring the traditions of the Ukrainian nation, which is currently being destroyed by enemies. On this day, Ukrainians dressed up in their best embroidered shirts to show the world that they are unbreakable.
Apostrophe's photojournalist Roman Petushkov made an impressive report from the streets of the capital.
Bright and smiling - unbreakable Ukrainians celebrate Vyshyvanka Day. People took to the streets of Kyiv in their best shirts, embroidered with traditional ornaments. Despite the cool weather, residents of Kyiv are in high spirits on this holiday. Today, people in embroidered shirts can be seen in every corner of the capital.
Local craftsmen also sell their products on the streets, such as traditional Ukrainian motanka dolls, which attract both adults and children.
Earlier, Apostrophe published photos of how Ukraine celebrated Unity Day (Den' Sobornosti).
