Historical masonry found in a cave in Pechersk

In a sinkhole that formed in one of the residential courtyards in Museum Lane on Pechersk in Kyiv, historical masonry from the late 19th - early 20th centuries was discovered.

Activist Dmitry Perov told about this.

According to him, these could be the basements of Samson Strelbytsy's estate-workshop.

"This is evidenced, in particular, by the direction of the main passage, which runs from the facade of the Manor-Workshop 8a in the direction of the courtyard house 8b and ends with a "dead" niche. At the same time, the brick dungeons in the courtyard of the manor can be connected in a different way and belong to the residential wing 8b. The latter was built in 1911 and has the current status of a monument of architecture and urban planning," the activist said.

Perov reminded that the ravine with the historical basement is just a 2-minute walk from the National Art Museum. And in the late 80s and early 90s, the headquarters of the Ukrainian MOVEMENT was located at Museum Lane 8a.

As a reminder, changes were made to the operation of public transport during the air raid .
