On Thursday, March 20, an unknown man opened fire in an office in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv. He committed suicide on the same day.
The incident was reported by the press service of the Metropolitan Police.
They said they received a report of the shooting at around 1 p.m. An investigative and operational group and patrol police crews were sent to the scene.
Law enforcement officers found out that a 39-year-old Kyiv resident entered the office. He shot one of the company's employees several times, after which he disappeared. The 53-year-old victim received injuries to her face and body. She was taken to a medical facility.
Investigators found the alleged murder weapon at the scene. It was a device for shooting rubber bullets, which was left there.
Then the man drove to one of the bridges and committed suicide by jumping into the Dnipro.
Rescuers have recovered the man's body from the river. He is being examined by a forensic expert.
Law enforcement officers continue to work at the scene and establish all the circumstances of the incident. They are also resolving the issue of the legal qualification of the crime.
As "Apostrophe" previously wrote, according to police, on March 18, unknown individuals opened fire in one of the shopping centers in Bila Tserkva. Law enforcement officers detained six participants in the incident.
