General explained the dangers of Zelensky’s scandalous appointments

Zelensky’s new appointments to senior defense positions lower the active opposition to specific aggressive actions, as general Mykola Malomuzh stated in his interview to “Apostrophe”.

According to Malomuzh, Ukraine currently doesn’t have the support of its partners due to the low effectiveness of the country’s intelligence.

“For instance, if we are in close contact with, let’s say, CIA, FBI, FIS (Germany), MI-5 or MI-6 (UK), we know they form their governments’ policies and their policies on Ukraine. When we have a systematic program with them regarding Ukraine, we receive their support. Now we are losing this connection. We’re also losing a geopolitical perspective,” he noted.

Malomuzh believes President Volodymyr Zelensky has the same “disease” as his predecessors.

“Appointing only loyal, reliable people who would execute all tasks and instructions and would never, God forbid, voice a different opinion. We need to appoint, however, independent, professional people who would stand for the state’s interests rather than a certain individual’s,” the general added.

As Malomuzh claims, such steps devalue Ukraine’s perspectives.

“The same “disease” existed during Poroshenko and Yanukovych’s times as well. On separate occasions, there were improvements in either intelligence or SBU. The professionals came for some time and did their job, but as soon as they didn’t follow unlawful instructions, there was a conflict of interest between the head of intelligence and the president. Thus, the former was let go of, according to the HR logic. What a situation,” he summarized.
