The President of Armenia sharply addressed Prime Minister Pashinyan in his statement

Armenian President Armen Sargsyan has stated that the government led by Nikol Pashinyan should resign.

According to the presidential press service, the president insists on holding new elections and a referendum on changes to the constitution.

Sargsyan believes the situation with Nagorno Karabakh conflict should result in government resignation

"There is a solution for any country, where such a great tragedy has happened, - the government that somehow allowed this must leave. And then, if strong enough politically, the representatives may return. The country was completely different when the last elections were held 2.5 years ago. Now, we live in another country,” he said.

The head of state also proposed a new ‘balanced’ constitution of Armenia, which would allow neither the prime minister nor president to make decisions alone.
