The President's Office announced the expected date of the next Normandy format meeting

The head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak stated that the meeting of advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Format countries is expected to take place in Berlin in January 2021.

This was stated by Andrii Yermak in his interview for “Evropeiska Pravda” on Monday, December 28.

"Until the end of January, a meeting of advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Format countries will take place... The meeting place, as before, is Berlin," the head of the Presidential Office said.

However, Yermak added that he could not yet provide the exact date of the meeting. According to his claims, "four points of disengagement of forces along the front line in Donbas have been preliminarily agreed".

The head of the Presidential Office also noted that Normandy Format talks continued to be seen as the main tool for settlement and reconciliation of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

According to other sources of EuroPravda, in December 2020, the preparations for a Normandy format meeting of advisers were underway and several date options were considered. However, the meeting was postponed as per the initiative of the Russian Federation representatives.

It's worth noting that December 9 marked exactly one year since the meeting of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with Vladimir Putin within the framework of the Normandy format in Paris. On that day, the Ukrainian president stated quite unequivocally that he had given exactly one year for the negotiations in the Minsk and Normandy formats: that if there was no progress, Ukraine would move on to Plan B.
