Zelensky invited Biden to visit Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky invited U.S. President Joe Biden to visit Ukraine on the Independence Day, as was reported by Radio Liberty with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Zelensky has invited Biden to take part in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and join the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence in August, the Foreign Ministry said in response to a request from Radio Svoboda.

In particular, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that "the organization of mutual visits of the heads of the state remains on the agenda of Ukrainian-American relations."

"The organization of the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United States requires a set of measures for its proper content, including reaching substantive agreements in the political, security, military, trade and investment spheres. Currently, there is a constant purposeful work in all spheres," the statement reads.

According to the Foreign Ministry, in February Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

The Foreign Ministry did not specify when Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the United States can be expected, and whether Joe Biden accepted the invitation to come to Ukraine in August
