Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Gitanas Nausėda signed a Joint Declaration on Ukraine's European Prospect

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, who is on an official visit to Ukraine, signed a Joint Declaration on the European Prospect of Ukraine, as was announced by the press-service of the Office of President of Ukraine.

The Joint Declaration fixes the support of the Republic of Lithuania for the European prospect of our state.

The document stipulates that, in accordance with Article 49 of the Treaty on European Union, Ukraine, like any European state that respects the values enshrined in Article 2 of this Treaty and undertakes to follow them, may apply for membership in the European Union in case of observance of all conditions and obligations.

At the same time, the Republic of Lithuania will support Ukraine when the latter decides to apply for EU membership.
