The U.S. supported the Ukrainian initiative of the Crimean Platform, the purpose of which is to keep the occupation of Crimea in the focus of constant international attention. In addition, the United States has declared its readiness to join the platform.

The response of the U.S. Department of State says that the U.S. "is pleased to expect continued cooperation with Ukraine till the end of the Russian occupation of the Crimean peninsula and Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine".
The State Department official noted that the U.S. reaffirms its support of Ukraine and Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Crimean Platform aims to improve the effectiveness of the international response to Russian occupation of Crimea and to increase the international pressure on Russia.
