Zelensky named the main risks for Ukraine related to the Biden-Putin summit

President of UkraineVolodymyr Zelensky believes that the meeting of the U.S. President Joe Biden with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin is very important and it is necessary for such a meeting to take place.

This was said by Zelensky during his large press conference, which was broadcasted on the official Facebook page of the Office of President.

"I think this meeting is necessary. Biden is aware of my position, as we discussed it with the U.S. Secretary of State. They will touch upon the Ukrainian issue only in those aspects they are discussing it with us," Zelensky said.

The President of Ukraine added that there are still several risks, which may be imposed.

"I believe that there is a great risk that the U.S. may lift their sanctions. Russia may put more pressure on the U.S. and the latter will lift sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. I think it'll be a loss to the U.S., to Mr. Biden personally. It'll be Putin's big geopolitical victory. I know that the partners have different opinions on this issue. I know there's no common unified position and no thoughts…. The U.S. can do this in exchange for something really serious," the Ukrainian president said.

We would like to remind you that the U.S. waived sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline construction companies and the head of the company that is involved in the construction of the gas pipeline.
