U.S. President Joe Biden intends to draw the "red lines" on the issues on which the positions of Russia and the United States differ at the upcoming meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, as Biden said following the NATO leaders summit in Brussels, Reuters reports.
Biden admitted that he will face a serious opponent in Geneva on Wednesday.
"I've already met him. He's smart, tough, and I'd say he's a worthy opponent," President Biden said.
In the cases of disagreement between Washington and Moscow, Biden promised to clarify where the "red lines" lie, one of which is definitely the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Biden also promised to support Ukraine in its conflict with Moscow.
"We are going to put Ukraine in a position that they will be able to maintain their physical security," Biden said, without giving more details.
