White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki made a statement on the visit of President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine. The official statement was published on the White House website.
“President Biden looks forward to welcoming President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine to the White House on August 30, 2021,” Jen Psaki said in a statement.
According to the White House press secretary, the visit will once again affirm the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression in the Donbas and Crimea, America's close cooperation on energy security, and Washington's backing for President Zelenskyy’s efforts to tackle corruption and implement a reform agenda based on shared democratic values.
It's worth noting that U.S. State Department adviser Derek Scholle said that there is an ambitious agenda for the meeting of President Zelensky and President Biden. In particular, Nord Stream - 2 will be discussed.
