The court made an important decision on Medvedchuk’s case

The Court of Appeal again left backgammon Viktor Medvedchuk under house arrest. It became known at the court session.

The Kyiv Court of Appeals rejected the appeal of the People's Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk against the preventive measure chosen against him in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.

Kyiv’s Court of Appeal upheld the house arrest of MP (from the Opposition Platform – For Life faction) Viktor Medvedchuk. The court made a corresponding ruling on Friday, thus refusing to sustain the appeal of Medvedchuk’s defense.

It's worth noting that Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova signed a suspicion of treason against Viktor Medvedchuk and People's Deputy from the Opposition Platform – For Life Taras Kozak. The SBU stressed that there was "clear evidence of illegal activities and cooperation between these persons and the aggressor country" revealed during the house searches. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Viktor Medvedchuk has been under house arrest since May 13.

On July 9, Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court extended Medvedchuk’s house arrest until September 7. Medvedchuk tried to appeal the court decision.
