Exchange of Medvedchuk for Ukrainian prisoners in the Russian Federation: Zelensky named the condition

People's Deputy from the Opposition Platform - For Life Viktor Medvedchuk may be exchanged for Ukrainian war prisoners taken by the Russian militants, provided that the parliamentarian holds Russian citizenship.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with ICTV.

According to the President, he is considering an option of exchanging Viktor Medvedchuk, accused of treason in Ukraine, for Ukrainian prisoners detained by the Russian Federation.

Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the exchange of the MP from OPZH for citizens of Ukraine is possible only if Russia confirms that Viktor Medvedchuk holds Russian citizenship.

"Viktor Medvedchuk is a citizen of Ukraine and Ukrainian legislation applies to him. On the other hand, if Russia, for example, confirmed that Mr. Medvedchuk held Russian citizenship, then after that we would gladly consider the possibility of exchanging Medvedchuk for heroes of Ukraine, detained by the Federation," the head of state stated in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel.
