Measure of restraint for Medvedchuk changed to personal recognizance

Pechersky District Court of Kyiv extended the measure of restraint for MP Viktor Medvedchuk on the episode of treason and attempted looting of national values, imposing personal obligations on the suspect, Interfax reports.

The decision was made on Tuesday, November 2, and will be valid until December 31.

Personal obligations include:

- arriving at each request of the pretrial investigation agency, prosecutor or court;

- not leaving Kyiv and the region without the permission of the investigator, prosecutor, or court;

- informing the investigator, prosecutor, or court about a change in his place of residence and/or place of work;

- refraining from communication with suspects and witnesses;

- handing over the passports;

- wearing an electronic bracelet.

It's worth noting that Medvedchuk’s actions are qualified under by prosecutors as treason and assistance to the activities of terrorist organizations (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 111 and Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
