Putin declared a war against Ukraine: heavy fighting began in the Donbas, spreading further

On the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a military operation in Donbas, actually declaring war against Ukraine.

He made the corresponding statement during a video address, which was broadcasted at 4:00 Kyiv time on the Russia-1 TV channel.

"I decided to start a military operation. We will seek demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, and we will bring to responsibility all those who committed numerous bloody crimes," Putin said.

At the same time, residents of Mariupol, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson and other major cities in Ukraine began to report explosions.
