The only one of the EU and NATO leaders: Orban sends letter to Putin and congratulates him on "victory"

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has congratulated Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on his victory in the presidential election by sending a greeting letter.

This was reported by the PM's Spokesman Bertalan Havasi, Index.hu reports.

He noted that after the announcement of the "election results," Orban wrote in a congratulatory letter that the cooperation between the two countries is based on mutual respect, which allows them to raise important issues for discussion even in a difficult geopolitical situation.

"Hungary stands on the side of peace and the country is convinced that maintaining dialogue is a fundamental condition for establishing peace as soon as possible," the letter reads.

Orban expressed his readiness to increase cooperation between the countries in areas that are not limited to international law.

For the first time, voting in the "election" of the Russian president lasted three days - from March 15 to 17. On March 21, the Head of the CEC declared Putin the winner of the "election" with a result of 87.28%.

Thus, Orban was the only EU and NATO leader to congratulate Putin on his "re-election" to the post.

Earlier "Apostrophe" wrote that European Union will not recognize the results of Russian sham elections.
