On Monday, June 24, the Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Manuela Schwesig, who heads the German Bundesrat, arrived in Kyiv on a visit.
This was reported by DW.
Schwesig will hold talks with the political leadership of Ukraine. She said that this visit is "a sign of solidarity of all 16 federal states with Ukraine."
"Ukraine has to win this war. Russia must not be allowed to get what it wants through this aggression," Schwesig said.
The Head of the Bundesrat expressed her belief in the need to continue humanitarian, financial and military support for Ukraine and to supply the country with new weapons.
At the same time, Schwesig called her previous position on Nord Stream 2 a mistake. After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, she distanced herself from participation in this project and called it a mistake. She stated that 2022 was a turning point, including for her personally.
