The US State Department officially confirmed the death of an American diplomat in Kyiv.
This was announced by US State Department Spokesperson, Matthew Miller at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.
"We can confirm the death of a U.S. government employee who was under the Chief of Mission authority at the Embassy in Kyiv. We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our colleague," the Spokesperson said.
According to Miller, the diplomat's death was natural. No other information is available at this time.
Earlier, it was reported that the body of a representative of the US Embassy in Ukraine was found in the Hilton Hotel in Kyiv. It happened at about 11 a.m. on June 25 in one of the rooms. The deceased showed no signs of bodily injury, and the door was locked from the inside.
