In Ukraine, the assets of Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch from the inner circle of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and one of the main "sponsors" of Russia's war against Ukraine, have been nationalized. The state budget will receive about UAH 2 billion.
This was reported in the press center of the Security Service, referring to the decision of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court at the request of the Ministry of Justice.
They noted that it was about the recovery of products and raw materials that were the property of a Russian businessman to the revenue of Ukraine. Namely: about 550 thousand tons of bauxite and alumina produced until 2022. The raw materials and products were stored in the warehouses of the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, which was owned by the Russian.
"The total value of the nationalized assets is over UAH 2 billion. These products were used at the oligarch's Russian factories to smelt aluminum, from which components for ballistic missiles, combat drones, and radar systems are produced," the report says.
The SBU clarified that the nationalized bauxite and alumina belonged to a Russian through a controlled company registered in one of the European Union countries. The company was only a formal customer of the plant's products for re-export to the Russian Federation.
In early 2023, an illegal scheme was discovered and the shipment of raw materials was blocked.
The SBU informed the businessman in absentia of suspicion under a number of articles of the Criminal Code, in particular, for financing Russian aggression.
"The SBU's pre-trial investigation into Deripaska has been completed, and the indictment was sent to court in January 2025," the special service added.
As Apostrophe wrote, in January of this year , the assets of Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska were arrested in Ukraine.
