US military withdrawal from key Ukraine aid hub in Poland announced

The US Army Europe and Africa Command has announced the redeployment of American military personnel and equipment from Jasienka Airport in Poland, which is a key hub for assistance to Ukraine.

This is stated in the command's message.

The command explains that this decision has been planned for a long time. And this redeployment is "part of a broader strategy to optimize US military operations, improve support for allies and partners while increasing effectiveness."

In addition, this decision "reflects months of assessments and planning" carried out in coordination with the Polish side and other NATO allies.

"This facility is not a permanent Polish military base, but has been used by US, NATO and partner forces for three years," the statement said.

Jasionka, under the leadership of Poland and NATO countries, will continue to be used to provide military assistance to Ukraine, the command said.

In response to the communiqué, President Andrzej Duda assured that the relocation of American military equipment from Jasienka does not mean the withdrawal of troops.

The US military arrived at the airfield near Rzeszow with the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Since then, Jasienka has become a key logistical hub for the technical support that Western countries provide to Ukraine. As a particularly important location, it was covered, among other things, by the air defense of American Patriot systems.

By the way, over the past three years, the Russian Orthodox Church has strengthened its influence in Africa . In particular, parishes have been opened in 30 countries. Half of these parishes appeared in 2022.
