Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, commenting on President Volodymyr Zelensky's statement that at least 155 Chinese citizens are fighting on the side of the Russians against Ukraine, noted that an investigation is currently underway.
He said this in an interview with the Italian publication Corriere della Sera.
"There are dozens of them, and dozens at different points of the front. I don't know how many, but a lot. This is a serious, large-scale case that we are investigating," the head of the OP said.
The Italian journalist, in turn, emphasized that thousands of American, German, French, Italian, and many other volunteers and mercenaries are fighting alongside Ukrainian soldiers, asking what the difference is.
"Because China has always told us that it is neutral. Our volunteers come from countries that support us. Beijing must provide us with an explanation," Yermak said.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that China was informed about the participation of its citizens in a full-scale war against Ukraine on the side of Russia. Ukrainian intelligence knows the data on all Chinese involved in the hostilities.
