The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, claims that holding elections in Ukraine through "Diya" is currently unrealistic.
The head of the Council said this during an interview on the "There is a Conversation" program.
According to Stefanchuk, there are primarily problems in the technological space.
"I think it's unrealistic. Unfortunately, what's happening in the technological space now: deepfakes... now that we've learned to bypass the most modern methods of protection in the technological space. This is unrealistic now," the politician noted.
Instead, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada explained under what conditions elections in "Diya" are still possible.
"We just have to understand that this should be done only when it is 300% guaranteed that it will be reliable and will be accepted by society. If this is not the case, then this is simply a field for manipulation of accusations of each other that someone is trying to promote this. Therefore, it seems to me that we need to be frank that this is not a legal issue, but a technological one," Stefanchuk commented.
By the way, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, denied information that Ukraine is preparing elections for the summer of 2025.
