Trump for the first time addressed only Russia in a statement about the need to end the war

United States leader Donald Trump has for the first time addressed only Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in a new statement about the need to end the war in Ukraine.

This is stated in a post on the social network Truth Social.

The American president urged the Russian dictator to "move" quickly towards a truce with Ukraine.

The US leader said that the Russian side must step up on this issue to stop the mass deaths.

"Too many people are dying, thousands a week, in a terrible and senseless war - a war that should never have happened, and would not have happened if I were president!" Trump stressed.

Trump's statement came as his special envoy, Steve Whitkoff, arrived in Moscow to meet with the Russian dictator.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Vladimir Putin would meet with Trump's special envoy. According to him, they would discuss the "Ukrainian settlement."

As Apostrophe wrote, the US president previously expressed disappointment with the leaders of both sides of the Russian-Ukrainian war after attempts to resolve the situation, although he continues to advocate for establishing peace as soon as possible .

We also reported that Trump said he was "angry" with the Russian dictator because he questioned the trust in the Ukrainian president.
