On April 18, the Ukrainian government dismissed Lieutenant General Ivan Havrylyuk from the position of First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense.
This was announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Telegram.
He thanked the Lieutenant General for his work during a difficult period, thanks to which they were able to ensure stability in the procurement sector.
"I would like to thank Ivan Yuriyovych for his work during an extremely difficult period. Thanks to his efforts, we managed to overcome a number of challenges and ensure stability in one of the key areas of the ministry's activity," the message says.
The minister added that Havrylyuk will remain part of the department's team, announcing a new appointment, which is expected soon.
"We will soon announce his new area of responsibility. We continue to work for an effective army and our common victory," Umerov added.
As is known, Havrylyuk has held the position of First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense since May 17, 2024. He was responsible for defense procurement in the department and is a member of the supervisory board of the Defense Procurement Agency, which was previously involved in a scandal with its former head.
The Ministry of Defense has appointed Arsen Zhumadilov to the position of director of the Joint Stock Company. The change in leadership was explained by the need to prevent further failure in providing the army with necessary defense goods.
On March 7, the Cabinet of Ministers approved new members of the Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency. Upon Umerov's proposal, Ivan Havrylyuk and Stanislav Haider were appointed to the Supervisory Board as representatives of the state.
As "Apostrophe" wrote, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense Ivan Havrylyuk decided to resign from his position on his own initiative .
