What a huge mistake Trump is making regarding Ukraine — diplomat Roman Bezsmertny explains

The mistake of US President Donald Trump is that he does not know how to think strategically. After all, if he had the ability to think strategically, it would become clear that both Europe and Ukraine are needed by Washington in order to resolve issues, in particular, those related to confrontation with Moscow.

This explanation was shared on the air of "Apostrophe TV" by Ukrainian diplomat Roman Bezsmertny.

He commented on recent statements that the US is considering abandoning its efforts and moving on with the war in Ukraine, which was said, in particular, by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Regarding this, Bezsmertny states:

"This message is directed in two directions. The first is, of course, blackmailing Europe. Like, give everything you can, the responsibility lies with you. Europe hears this. It is doing its job. And it must be clearly said that it is doing its job very quickly. The second is that Trump dreams of jumping off the topic of negotiations on Russian aggression. He feels, he sees that the next dates are being called."

But it is obvious, according to the diplomat, that he is not able to do it, and he has no particular desire to, "unless he sees in this process either the prospect of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, or, using Ukraine as a resource, Europe as a resource, to repair his relations and build his relations with the same as him, only the Moscow Fuhrer."

"And, as can be seen from the situation, this is not happening. But in principle it is impossible. Why? Because the main direction that Donald Trump is taking in his calculations is aimed at driving a wedge between Moscow and Beijing," says Bezsmertny, calling this a conceptual and strategic initial mistake.

"And that's why these statements by Rubio, including those by DJ Vance, are directed in this direction, because there is an idea - "America above all." And in this regard, everything that is aside should be used to the extent that it is useful to America itself. However, this is a strategic mistake by Donald Trump, who does not know how to think strategically, and that is why such blunders occur," says the diploma.

According to him, the problem of America, as well as the European world in principle until recently, was that "neither Washington nor Brussels understood that there was coordination between Beijing, Moscow, Tehran and a whole series of cannibalistic regimes."

"And that's why Donald Trump wants to solve the issues on his own, thinking that he can handle them. In this way: "You deal with your problems here, and I'll go make money for you," - but the expert assures that Washington is just as interested in a partnership with Ukraine as Ukraine is. - Because if there was the ability to think strategically, it would become clear that Washington needs both Europe and Ukraine in order to, among other things, resolve issues in the Middle East, in the dialogue with Iran, in the confrontation with Beijing, in the confrontation with Moscow, and so on."

Recall that earlier, the leader of the United States Donald Trump stated that the American authorities want to get a peace agreement on Ukraine as soon as possible. However, if the parties "complicate" the process, the United States will withdraw from negotiations on the settlement of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
