Zelenskyy demands that Putin cease fire immediately

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for an immediate ceasefire in response to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's announcement of a "temporary silence" during the parade in Russia.

The head of state stated this in an evening address.

He noted that the Russian occupation army, amid calls from the international community to stop the war, has again struck civilian infrastructure. This time - in the Cherkasy region.

"That is, every new day is new clear proof that Russia must be pressured, and pressured noticeably, so that they there, in Moscow, are forced to end this war - a war that only Russia needs," he said.

Zelensky stressed that Russia constantly rejects all constructive proposals and manipulates the world, trying to mislead the United States.

Another attempt at manipulation is the Russian dictator's announcement of a temporary ceasefire on the occasion of "May 9" instead of introducing an immediate full-fledged regime of silence. This suggests that Putin does not value the lives of the population, but is focused on demonstrative measures.

"...for some reason everyone should wait for May 8 and only then cease fire to provide Putin with silence during the parade. We value people's lives, not parades. That is why we believe - the world believes - that there is no reason to wait for May 8. And the fire should be stopped not for a few days, only to kill again later. An immediate, complete and unconditional ceasefire - and for at least 30 days, so that it is guaranteed and reliable - is what can provide the basis for real diplomacy," the head of the Ukrainian state emphasized.

As Apostrophe reported, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has announced a new ceasefire that will last from May 8 to 10 of this year.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have declared the illegitimacy of another "truce" declared by the Russian Federation. The "regime of silence" can be considered valid only with the consent of both sides.
