On Monday, February 1, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleg Urusky held a meeting regarding the creation of Ukrainian high-resolution remote sensing spacecraft with the main developers and customers of satellite services.

"We discussed a wide range of organizational and technical issues, as well as discussed projects of the satellite group creation proposed by the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after I. Sikorsky" and SE "KB" Pivdenne," he stated in a Facebook post.
Urusky added that it is necessary to accelerate the implementation of the goal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch Ukrainian remote sensing spacecraft "Sich 2-30 (2-1)".
"I stressed that we must take all necessary measures to make this happen before the end of 2021, the year of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. And this is quite possible, given this urgent necessity and effective work," he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries explained that the ownership of such spacecraft will not only contribute to the solution of a wide range of tasks, both in the economic and security field, but it will also save the current budget spendings purchase of such services abroad.
He added that it is also planned to launch the third PolyITAN-3 satellite, created by the National Technical University "KPI".
As was earlier reported by "Apostrophe", the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky has invited the founder of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla Inc, Elon Musk, to visit the Sergei Korolev Cosmonautics Museum in Zhytomyr.
