No sooner had Poland liberated the conditions of border crossings for Ukrainian trucks when another neighbor, Slovakia, stabbed a knife in the back. Slovak trucking companies have announced a blockade of the border with Ukraine and stated forward their demands.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
According to the Slovak border guards, at 16:05, they started the blockade of truck traffic through the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint in Slovakia, opposite to Ukrainian checkpoint - Uzhhorod.
The action is being organized by representatives of the Slovak Union of Carriers, and the timing is unknown. State Border Guard Service said that the transportation of humanitarian aid, other important goods, live animals, fuel and refrigerated cargo will not be blocked, There will be limits for the rest of the cargo leaving Slovakia - four trucks per hour.
At the same time, traffic entering Slovakia will not be blocked: no restrictions will be applied to cars and buses.
Currently, about 900 trucks are waiting in line in Slovakia to enter Ukraine. This was reported by the representative of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, in a comment made to “Ukrainska Pravda”.
Earlier, Ukrainian truck drivers that got stuck on Polish border due to the blockade started a hunger strike.
