More than 1,200 residents still remain in Avdiivka: what is happening in the worst hell of the frontline

Avdiivka has been one of the hottest spots on the map of Ukraine for a long period of time. The fierce battles are constantly taking place there.

The Head of Avdiivka City Military Administration, Vitaly Barabash told in the air of Apostrophe TV about tactics of Russian army, that is constantly storming the city.

The official notes that despite the weather conditions, the enemy is pressing, trying to realize their plans to surround the city and capture it. As a result, there are almost round-the-clock assaults from south and north, supported by artillery and aviation.

"Recently there has been less aviation, however, it is very hot at the positions. The number of shellings per day is counted in the hundreds. On average from 30 to 40 shelling in the city and from 6 to 8 aerial bombing strikes on the community over the past few days, and on the positions - everything is counted in tens," explains Barabash.

The head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration also said that a lot of trouble in logistics issues are caused by rain and ice.

"We canceled evacuations yesterday because we couldn't even drive. There is one road for logistics and evacuations. 1,249 civilians still remain in Avdiivka. There are definite plans to evacuate today, but everything will depend on the weather. If there is an opportunity, we will still take people out," emphasized Barabash.
