Restoration will take months, Ukrainians may be left without electricity in summer

As a result of the massive missile attack carried out by the enemy on the night of March 22, which partially hit energy facilities, a large number of generation facilities were damaged, so Ukrainians may experience electricity shortages in the summer.

This was emphasized by Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko during the TV marathon.

In his opinion, the damage is very serious, and Ukrainians are likely to experience electricity shortages in the summer. Power engineers are continuing to work on restoration, but the entire process may take months or "even longer."

He pointed out that DTEK lost half of its generating capacities as a result of the Russian strikes, and they continue to be out of service. According to Kovalenko, the attack destroyed the company's electricity transmission capacities and reduced its generation capacity as well:

"Several types of generating capacities, a large number of thermal power plants, and a hydroelectric generation facility were affected. Russians also hit Ukrenergo's grid nodes, transformers, etc. This attack simultaneously destroys the ability of our systems to transmit electricity and reduces the ability to generate it."

Earlier we reported that Russia's massive attack on Ukraine has led to the introduction of blackout schedules in some cities.
