Russia's massive attack has caused damage to some critical infrastructure facilities - there are power outages in cities, emergency shutdown schedules have been introduced in some places, and the ZNPP remains on the verge of a complete blackout.
"Apostrophe" collected the latest data on the current situation with electricity in Ukraine and where there may be outages.
Lviv Region
The Head of Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, wrote that an energy infrastructure facility in Stryi District was damaged during an air attack on the city:
"During an air raid, an occupier drone hit an energy infrastructure facility in Stryi District. A fire broke out. Firefighters are currently extinguishing it. As of this hour, there has been no information about casualties."
Poltava Region
Philip Pronin, Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, noted that the debris damaged the roofs of three private houses in Myrhorod District:
"At night, the enemy struck across the country, including our region. The most important thing is that there were no casualties. Debris damaged the roofs of three private houses in Myrhorod District. Mobile firing groups were working on air targets in Kremenchuk District."
Philip Pronin emphasized that this was the largest attack on the Ukrainian energy sector recently, a schedule of emergency shutdowns has been introduced in Poltava Region, and Points of Invincibility are being deployed:
"The enemy has launched the largest attack on Ukrainian energy sector in recent times. We have applied preventive shutdowns of substations in Poltava Region and introduced a schedule of emergency shutdowns for all 10 stages. The situation is under control. Power engineers are already working to restore power supply."
Kryvyi Rih
At 06:26 a.m., Head of Kryvyi Rih Defence Council, Oleksandr Vilkul wrote on Telegram that a schedule of emergency shutdowns had been introduced in Kryvyi Rih:
"Emergency shutdown schedules have been introduced. Hospitals and other infrastructure facilities, where it is possible, are switching to generators."
He noted that there are 213 Points of Invincibility in the city.
Kharkiv
The Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov wrote that Kharkiv is almost completely without electricity:
"The occupants carried out more than 15 attacks on energy facilities. The city is almost completely without electricity. All emergency services are already working."
ZNPP (Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant)
JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” wrote that ZNPP is once again on the verge of blackout:
"Today, on March 22, 2024, during a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine at 5:10 am, the external overhead line of OHL-750kV Dniprovska, connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP with the integrated power system of Ukraine, was disconnected."
Currently, the nuclear power plant is connected to the Ukrainian power grid only by the Zaporizhzhia TPP-Ferrosplavna OHL-330kV power line. CEO of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin emphasizes that this situation is extremely dangerous and threatens to cause an emergency:
"This situation is extremely dangerous and threatens with an emergency situation. If the last line of connection with the national power grid is cut off, ZNPP will be in another blackout, which is a serious violation of the plant's safe operating conditions."
Earlier we reported that Russia hit Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant with missiles.
