"He who fears for the parade has killed again": rescuers showed the consequences of the Russian strike on Odessa

On the night of Thursday, May 1, Russia carried out a massive attack on Odessa, using "Shahed" strike drones. Damage to residential high-rise buildings, private homes, and civilian infrastructure is recorded in the city. It is also known about, previously, two deaths and 15 injuries.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported more details about the consequences.

According to rescuers, residential high-rise buildings, private homes, a supermarket, a school, and cars were damaged.

Two deaths and 15 injuries are known:

"Unfortunately, two people died, and according to preliminary information, another 15 people were injured. Fires broke out in the areas of impact, which were quickly extinguished."

In one of the high-rise buildings, rescuers, together with the cooperation services, evacuated more than 200 people. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police worked on the scene.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak reacted to the enemy's massive attack on Odessa. He writes about this:

"This is Odesa. The one who is afraid for the parade has again killed civilians with drones. A complete ceasefire - we must push for it together with the US and Europe. The desire to kill Putin will always be there, until the end of his life, but diplomacy, forceful and economic methods of influence will still force Russia to stop the war. We are working on this with our partners every day. There will be more important diplomacy soon, which will concern our security, as well as a just and sustainable peace."

Recall that on the night of Tuesday, April 29, Russia struck Kharkiv with drones , which caused large-scale fires and destruction.
