Georgia sees a new wave of protests: details

On Sunday, November 8, Georgian political opposition held another protest in downtownTbilisi demanding new parliamentary elections in the country.

According to Rustavi2, the results of the October 31 elections were rigged and not recognized by the opposition leaders. Thus, politicians have issued a number of ultimatums, including holding new free and fair parliamentary elections, releasing all political prisoners and dismissing Georgian CEC chief Tamar Zhvania.

Many candidates are protesting. Some even refuse to receive their mandates.

According to the leader of the United National Movement Nick Melia, the protest will not end until the government fulfils all the demands for a new parliamentary election. Reminding that parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on Saturday, October 31.
