A long-range bomber crashed in Russia

On Tuesday, March 23, a long-range Tu-22M bomber crashed in the Russian Federation at Shaikovka airfield near Kaluga, as the 113 Telegram channel reported.

The fate of the crew is still unknown.

According to Interfax, military aircraft made an emergency landing near Kaluga.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has not yet reacted to the incident.

The LIFE SHOT Telegram channel reported that three people died in the incident, and only one survived.

"Three crew members of the Tu-22M bomber died when the ejection system was activated while preparing for the flight," the message reads.

It should be noted that the Tu-22M long-range bomber is one of the most classified aviation projects of the USSR that was developed during the Cold War. Tu-22M can be equipped with nuclear warheads and can accommodate four crew members.
