Putin announced his response to NATO and US troops near Russia's borders

Russia said that the U.S. and NATO allegedly began to transfer their troops to the borders of the European-Russian border.

This was stated by the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on April 13, as was reported by RIA Novosti.

According to him, "the main military potential was noticed in the Black Sea region and in the Baltic States".

The head of the Russian defense ministry noted that American troops are allegedly moving from continental parts of North America across the Atlantic to the European continent.

According to his expectations, a total of 40 thousand servicemen and 15 thousand units of weapons and military equipment, including strategic aviation, will be concentrated on the European border with the Russian Federation.

The Russian Federation reminded that the NATO armed forces have started the largest in the past thirty years exercise "Defender Yuroy - 2021", within the framework of which the troops transfer is underway.

According to Shoigu, two units of Land forces and three units of Airborne Forces were transferred to the western borders three weeks before the exercise began.

"Within three weeks, two Land forces units and three Airborne Forces units were successfully transferred to the western borders of the Russian Federation to areas of training and combat tasks," Shoigu said.

NATO and the United States have not yet commented on Shoigu's statement.
