Russia has announced the withdrawal of its troops from the Ukrainian borders

Russia has begun to withdraw its troops from the Ukrainian border.

This was stated by the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on April 22, according to TASS.

Thus, Shoigu stated that “verification measures” in the Southern and Western Military Districts of the Russian Federation have been completed, as well as "all the goals, which the Russian Federation set have been achieved".

Shoigu assigned the task to plan the withdrawal of troops immediately andto start the troops' withdrawal and return to positions of their permanent deployment on April 23.

The Defence Minister of the Russian Federation also noted that NATO has significantly increased military activity near the southern borders of Russia.

"The military activity of the NATO bloc is significantly increasing in this region. Intelligence activities are increasing, the intensity and scale of operational training activities are increasing," Shoigu said.
