"The Russian army struck at Zaporizhzhia International Airport. There are no more details yet. The Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov has not yet commented on the incident," he wrote.

Before the shelling began, an air raid alert was announced due to the threat of attacks by X-59 air defense missiles. After the alert was announced, local residents wrote on social media about the explosion.
The new terminal of Zaporizhzhia Airport was opened on October 19, 2020. It is located east of the city at a distance of about 15 km from the central part of Zaporizhzhia along the Donetsk highway. The airport has been shelled several times since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
