Explosions heard in several regions: how many air targets were intercepted

During the night of June 27, Russia used 29 air targets for another attack against Ukraine, combining various types of missiles and attack drones. Explosions were heard in several regions of Ukraine, and air defense intercepted 28 targets.

The media reported explosions in several regions. In particular, Suspilne wrote about explosions in Kyiv and in Khmelnytsky Region (at 2:41, 2:58, 3:01, 3:47 and 5:06 a.m.).

Local Telegram channels warned about explosions in Poltava Region. And some monitoring channels noted the explosions in Kharkiv. Later, they also showed an indicative map with the approximate route of the air targets launched by Russia against Ukraine.

Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said on his Telegram channel that the Air Defense Forces managed to shoot down 28 air targets overnight, including 5 missiles and 23 attack UAVs.

"On the night of June 27, 2024, the Russian occupiers launched a missile and air strike on Ukraine, using air- and sea-based missiles and Shahed-type attack UAVs," Oleshchuk writes.

He notes that fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in combat operations.

The total number of missiles fired by the enemy reached 6 units, and 23 UAVs. In particular, for this attack Russia used:

  • 1 Kh-47 M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile (from the airspace of the Tambov Region - Russian Federation);
  • 4 Kalibr cruise missiles (from the north-eastern part of the Black Sea);
  • 1 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided missile (from the airspace of Kursk Region - Russian Federation);
  • 23 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs (launch area - Primorsko-Akhtarsk - Russian Federation).

The following targets were shot down during the air combat:

  • 4 Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • 1 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided missile;
  • 23 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs.
