Oleksandr Usyk, the holder of the WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles, preparing for his rematch with Daniel Dubois, the holder of the IBF title, recalled the controversial situation of the first fight. So he asked his opponent to sign photos from that moment as a souvenir.
This was reported by "Apostrophe" with reference to the press conference of the boxers' rematch.
In particular, Usyk presented photos of this controversial blow. The boxer signed these images and asked Dubois to do the same. The Briton agreed.
As you know, in August 2023, Usyk defeated Dubois by knockout in the ninth round . However, in the fifth round, the Ukrainian found himself on the canvas after a blow from Dubois below the belt.
The referee did not rule the incident a knockout, giving Usyk time to recover. This moment caused widespread debate, but Dubois' team argued that the blow was within the rules.
A new fight for the title of absolute champion between Usyk and Dubois will take place on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London.
It was previously announced that the fight was to take place on July 12 .
