Philip Morris announced the launch of IQOS recycling in Ukraine

Philip Morris has started processing electronic devices, which the company sells in Ukraine: IQOS, IQOS VEEV and lil. Users can hand over the old device at any IQOS Space store. According to the company, the electronics from the stores are sent for recycling to the company’s international partner – “Flexstronix International Kft.” (Hungary).

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the company's press service.

Hungary has already received about 608,000 items from Ukraine for processing, including devices, holders and chargers for IQOS, which the company has collected through exchange programs.

Used sticks, hearths, cartridges and even e-cigarettes from other manufacturers can also be recycled to IQOS Space. Their disposal is provided by the Ukrainian partner “Philip Morris” – LLC “Waste Management Center”.

“I am proud that Ukraine is on the list of countries where Philip Morris has launched a recycling program. Achieving our goal of a smoke-free future is only possible if we adhere to the principles of sustainable development. from development and production to use and disposal. Minimizing the impact on the environment is one of the company’s priorities“ said Costas Salvaras, CEO of Philip Morris in Ukraine.

According to him, the company’s global goal is to ensure the possibility of 100% recycling of its smokeless devices by 2025, as well as to reduce the amount of plastic waste from its own products by 50%.

In the future, Philip Morris International will continue to implement a program to recycle smokeless electronic devices. In 2020, the company achieved 84% recycling of IQOS devices (percentage of the weight of each device).
