Ukrzaliznytsia announced on March 27 the resumption of online ticket sales after a large-scale cyberattack.
" The UZ website and application were restored in 89 hours of non-stop operation after an unprecedented attack on the railway's key operating systems ," the message says.
Temporary technical outages are possible due to peak service overloads.
It is noted that at the first stage, only basic functionality will work: sale and return of tickets for all directions with a depth of 20 days. The online sales system has been restored in a backup format for the purchase of new train tickets and their return.
Work is underway to restore all other services, primarily client services.
" Please note that archives of previously purchased tickets are not available in the application: tickets remain valid, you can find their PDF duplicates at the email address specified in the passenger's account. It is also worth checking the "spam" folder, tickets could have ended up there ," UZ reported .
To board the train, you can also use screenshots of tickets from the application, and if both ticket options are not available, simply show the receipt for paying for tickets from the banking application upon boarding.
Previously, the journalist told how she had to stand in line for almost two hours at the train station in Kyiv to buy a ticket.
