What Ukraine has harvested despite the war

Ukraine is planning to harvest about 80 million tons of grain and oilseeds this year. That will form the basis of exports.

Sourses: First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky for Apostrophe TV.

According to him, 22 million tons of wheat, about 6 million tons of barley, up to 30 million tons of corn were harvested. The rapeseed harvest amounted to 4 million tons, soybeans - 4.7, and sunflower - 13 million tons.

Ukraine needs about 20 million tons of grain to meet its domestic needs. "This figure may rise slightly during the year, as we are now seeing an increase in livestock production. However, in any case, internal needs will not exceed 25 million tons. The country has 55-60 million tons of agricultural products left for export," he said.

He also noted that Ukraine harvested all the major crops and that allows to fully cover the internal needs.

"In addition to the named export positions, a sufficient amount of oats, millet, peas have been grown... The situation with vegetables - onions, beet, carrots, etc. - has improved compared to last year," said Taras Vysotskyy.
