On Tuesday, June 18, Kazakh opposition journalist Aidos Sadykov was shot in Kyiv. He is currently in serious condition.
The shooting in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv was reported by the police press service.
The incident occurred on V. Yarmola Street. Law enforcement officers have previously established that an unknown person approached a parked car with a man and his wife, shot the man and then fled. The woman was not injured. Measures are being taken to detain the attacker.
At the same time, RBC-Ukraine's sources reported that the victim of the attacker was Kazakh opposition journalist Aidos Sadykov. He is known for his criticism of the Kazakh authorities on his YouTube channel, as well as for supporting the protests in Kazakhstan in 2022, when CSTO troops were deployed to suppress them.
The latest video on the channel was released today, in which President Tokayev was called a "puppet of Russian influence."
