Poroshenko said that what he would do after his presidency: video

President Petro Poroshenko said that after the end of his presidential cadence he is going to run for the European Parliament in the next elections in 2024.

He said it on the sidelines of the Kyiv forum on security, answering the question about his actions in case of victory of Volodymyr Zelensky in the presidential election, LB.ua reports.

"In 2024 I will run for the European Parliament," he said.

Poroshenko was elected the President of Ukraine in May 2014 for a five-year term. The Constitution limits the term of office of the President to two terms, which means that Poroshenko in any case has to leave the position in 2024.

As "Apostrophe" reported earlier, previously Poroshenko already said that after the presidential cadence he wanted to become a member of the European Parliament.

As it is well-known, only citizens of the European Union can run for the European Parliament.
