Verkhovna Rada decided on Zelensky’s inauguration date

Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada determined the inauguration day of the newly elected president Volodymyr Zelensky.

The ceremony will be held at 10 am on May 20.

315 parliament members supported this proposal.

The MPs were choosing between seven bills with seven different dates – May 17, May 19, May 20, May 26, May 28, June 1 and June 2. Zelensky himself wanted to hold the inauguration on May 19.

The winning bill was proposed by Vitalii Kuprii. Before agreeing on May 20, the MPs declined two bills proposing to hold the inauguration on May 19.

As “Apostrophe” reported earlier, a series of photoshopped pictures was posted online, ridiculing Volodymyr Zelensky’s reaction to MPs delaying his inauguration date.
