Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Cabinet of Ministers, Andrii Herus, said Volodymyr Zelensky did not make any direct promises to cut tariffs.
Herus claimed this on the show “That’s how it is”.
“Zelensky has never made a direct promise to cut tariffs. He and we all realize, however, tariffs are a problem. If you look into what Zelensky said in his video about tariffs, he talked about the necessity of producing gas, investments, and development of export,” he expanded.
Herus marked that Zelensky has never made a direct promise to cut tariffs because he “didn’t want to appear as populist”. According to Herus, Zelensky only “joked” about tariffs.
“Zelensky joked about tariffs being high. Zelensky joked about “Rotterdam+” being unfair and being a corruption formula. But he never gave direct promises. Of course, people see what they want to see in subtle hints,” he added.
People started criticizing this statement online.
