Protests in Georgia caused by a Russian MP: the culprit of bloody events made a statement

Russian MP Sergey Gavrilov, whose visit to Tbilisi provoked mass protests, made a loud statement on what has happened.

According to the politician, he decided to undergo a medical check after the activists’ attack in Georgia’s capital.

Gavrilov believes the Georgian authorities’ inconsistence is to blame for the unrest in Tbilisi.

“What’s happening now is a consequence of the inconsistent, sometimes absurd position of the Georgian government, which is trying to wear not even two but three or five hats. It attempts to maintain good neighborly relations, attract investments, and develop the culture while traditionally indulging American colleagues and playing the anti-Russian card," he said.

As “Apostrophe” reported earlier, a couple hundred people were injured during protests in front of the Georgian parliament.
