Ukrainian passports for other countries: Zelensky’s response to Putin’s actions in Donbas

President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the news about prolonging the arrest of 24 Ukrainian sailors in Russia, as well as to Volodymir Putin’s decree on the simplified procedure for Ukrainians to receive Russian citizenship.

According to the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Kyiv perceived the news “with sadness and indignation”.

“The President of Ukraine, in turn, instructs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop a mechanism of granting Ukrainian citizenship to ethnic Ukrainians in friendly countries that wish to participate in developing their historic homeland,” the message reads.

Moreover, the President instructed to develop a mechanism of granting Ukrainian citizenship to individuals who suffer from the violation of rights and freedoms in their homeland.

As “Apostrophe” reported earlier, Zelensky revealed the details of negotiations with Putin.
